These Terms & Conditions apply to quotations, advertised offers, electrical services, installations and other works provided by Prolec SGA.
By accepting a quotation, approving works or engaging Prolec SGA to provide services, the customer agrees to these Terms & Conditions together with any additional terms stated within their individual quotation.
1. Advertised Prices & Promotional Offers
Prices displayed in Prolec SGA brochures, flyers, advertisements, social media, website content or other promotional material are indicative advertised prices and are subject to these Terms & Conditions.
Where a price is advertised, the advertised amount represents the price for an eligible standard installation only.
The final price will depend on the individual property, installation requirements, products selected and scope of works.
Additional charges may apply for requirements including, but not limited to:
- Switchboard upgrades or modifications
- Consumer mains or electrical supply upgrades
- Additional cabling or extended cable runs
- Trenching or underground cabling
- Difficult or restricted access
- Multi-storey properties
- Scaffolding, elevated work platforms or specialised access equipment
- Roof type, pitch, condition or installation complexity
- Metering alterations
- Electrical defects identified during the works
- Additional circuit protection
- Equipment relocation
- Removal or disposal of existing equipment
- Concrete pads, bollards, protective barriers or mounting structures
- Network or distributor requirements
- Additional labour or materials not included within the standard installation
- Travel outside Prolec SGA's standard service area.
Where additional works are identified, Prolec SGA will advise the customer and, where practicable, obtain approval before proceeding with additional chargeable works.
Advertised prices do not override an individual written quotation supplied by Prolec SGA.
2. Site Visits & Quotations
Solar, battery and other installations may require a site inspection before Prolec SGA can provide or confirm the final quotation.
The purpose of the site inspection is to assess the proposed installation location and identify reasonably visible requirements that may affect the installation.
Some conditions may not be visible or reasonably identifiable until installation work commences. These may include concealed wiring, underground services, structural issues, inaccessible cable routes, electrical defects, asbestos-containing materials or other unexpected site conditions.
If additional works become necessary after the quotation has been accepted, Prolec SGA will discuss the required variation with the customer.
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are based on the information and site conditions available to Prolec SGA at the time the quotation is prepared.
3. Government Rebates, Incentives & Eligibility
Where an advertised price takes into account a government rebate, incentive, certificate, loan or other financial benefit, the advertised price is subject to the customer and installation meeting the applicable eligibility requirements at the time of application and installation.
Eligibility is determined by the relevant government department, program administrator or regulatory body and is not guaranteed by Prolec SGA.
Government programs, rebate amounts and eligibility requirements may change.
If a customer is found to be ineligible for an advertised rebate or incentive, the final price may change accordingly.
The customer is responsible for providing accurate information and documentation required for any rebate or incentive application.
4. Residential Compliance & Safety Checks
Advertised residential compliance or safety check prices apply only to the services specifically stated within the advertisement or quotation.
Depending on the service selected, a compliance package may include electrical safety checks, smoke alarm checks and/or gas safety checks where applicable and where completed by appropriately qualified tradespeople.
The advertised inspection price covers the inspection or testing included within the agreed scope.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, the advertised price does not include rectification or repair work required to bring a property into compliance.
If an inspection identifies faults, defects, damaged equipment, non-compliant installations or items requiring replacement, Prolec SGA will advise the customer or property representative.
Additional works may include, but are not limited to:
- Replacement smoke alarms
- Switchboard upgrades
- Safety switch/RCD installation or replacement
- Electrical repairs
- Replacement power points, switches or fittings
- Earthing upgrades
- Fault finding
- Repairs to damaged wiring
- Gas appliance repairs or servicing outside the agreed inspection scope
- Access works required to complete testing.
Where rectification work is required, this may be quoted and charged separately.
Completion of a safety or compliance inspection does not mean that defects identified during the inspection are automatically included within the inspection price.
5. Existing Electrical Installations
Prolec SGA is not responsible for pre-existing faults, defects or non-compliant electrical work that was not completed by Prolec SGA.
If an existing electrical installation is found to be unsafe or unsuitable for the proposed works, additional rectification may be required before the installation can be completed or energised.
Prolec SGA reserves the right to stop or postpone works where continuing would create a safety or compliance risk.
6. Certificates, Inspections & Approvals
Electrical works will be completed in accordance with applicable electrical safety requirements.
Where required, the appropriate Certificate of Electrical Safety will be issued.
Certain electrical works may require inspection by an independent Licensed Electrical Inspector, network distributor approval or other third-party approval.
Timeframes associated with inspectors, electricity distributors, retailers, government bodies and other third parties are outside Prolec SGA's direct control.
7. Installation Dates & Delays
Any installation dates provided are subject to availability and may be affected by weather, product supply, electrical inspections, network approvals, site conditions and circumstances outside Prolec SGA's reasonable control.
Prolec SGA will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed of significant scheduling changes.
8. Payment
Payment requirements, deposits and payment schedules will be specified within the customer's quotation, invoice or other written agreement.
Additional works or approved variations may be invoiced separately.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are payable in accordance with the payment terms stated on the invoice.
9. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Customers should provide as much notice as possible when cancelling or rescheduling confirmed works.
Where Prolec SGA has already incurred reasonable costs relating to specifically ordered products, equipment, permits, third-party services or mobilisation for the customer's project, these costs may be payable by the customer where permitted by law and disclosed as part of the applicable quotation or agreement.
10. Changes to These Terms
Prolec SGA may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to its services, products, pricing structures, government programs or regulatory requirements.
The Terms & Conditions applying to a particular accepted quotation will be those applicable to that quotation and any terms specifically contained within the quotation or agreed with the customer.
